We moved here for the schools. I'm running to protect them.
Mom.
Attorney.
PTO secretary.
Your neighbor.
A public school kid from Casper, Wyoming, Sara Kiewiet is the daughter of a mechanic who taught her to work for what she wanted. She earned a full academic scholarship to the University of Wyoming, then a law degree from Ohio State with a certificate in dispute resolution: formal training in getting people who disagree to find common ground. She spent her career doing exactly that, in commercial litigation and fifteen years in legal technology.
When she and her husband Justin chose where to raise their family, they chose Johnson County for one reason: the Blue Valley schools. Three years as PTO secretary later, she's watched Topeka chip away at the very thing they moved here for. She's running for the Kansas House to protect it.
